The cast of "The Dream Child"
Summer 2021 - Piper Theater presented the premiere of my play for young actors, "The Dream Child" with additional text by Piper participants. Working with ideas from "1001 Arabian Nights," the Book of Esther, and the Greek myth of the minotaur, the play examined story-telling as a way to "other" and as a way to take agency
In Summer 2019, the company presented the premiere of my play for young actors, "Lancelot and the Unicorn." The play follows the adventure of transfer student Lancelot Chevalier who must join with Gwynn Gwyrrd, aka the Gweirdo, to save his new middle school from mysterious, magical forces.
Both works were commissioned by Piper for its summer educational theater program.
